On Sea Sunday, we gathered with our seafarers and fishers for a special celebration of faith, gratitude, and fellowship. The occasion gave us an opportunity to recognize the courage, strength, and dedication of those who spend so much of their lives at sea, often far from their families and loved ones.

A Celebration Rooted in Faith

The gathering began with a heartfelt Mass, bringing our community together in prayer and thanksgiving. It was a meaningful opportunity to pray for the safety and well-being of all those who work at sea and to remember the challenges and sacrifices that come with their way of life.

Giving Thanks to Our Seafarers and Fishers

Sea Sunday is a special moment to recognize the people whose work at sea plays an important role in our world. Seafarers and fishers face demanding conditions, long periods away from home, and many challenges that are not always seen by others.

Through this celebration, we expressed our gratitude for their courage, resilience, and dedication, reminding them that their work and sacrifices are valued.

A Time for Fellowship and Connection

Following the Mass, we shared a joyful time of fellowship with our seafarers and fishers. Through simple conversations, shared moments, and companionship, the gathering created a welcoming space where everyone could feel connected and cared for.

These moments of togetherness remind us that even a simple gathering can bring comfort and strengthen the bonds between people who may often experience life far from home.

Walking Alongside Those at Sea

At Stella Maris, accompanying seafarers and fishers means being present not only in moments of celebration, but also through the challenges they face throughout their journeys.

Sea Sunday reflected this commitment to care, appreciation, and solidarity. By gathering in prayer and fellowship, we reaffirmed our desire to walk alongside those who live and work at sea.

Continuing a Mission of Care and Solidarity

Sea Sunday was a beautiful reminder that those who work at sea are never forgotten. Through prayer, friendship, and practical support, we continue creating spaces where seafarers and fishers feel welcomed, valued, and accompanied.

Inspired by our mission, we remain committed to standing alongside the maritime community and offering care and solidarity to those who dedicate their lives to the sea.
