Our Activities

Each activity reflects our mission to serve with compassion, walk alongside migrants and seafarers, and uphold the dignity of every person on the move.

Migrants Day

The 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, celebrated on October 5, 2025, was a meaningful and vibrant gathering for our community, marked by the strong participation of the People of God and a shared spirit of faith and welcome. Communities from different countries came together, each offering a unique expression of their culture through traditional food, music, and customs, enriching the celebration and creating a space of encounter and mutual appreciation. More than a simple gathering, the day became a visible sign of unity and fraternity, highlighting the beauty of walking together as one community where every culture is respected, every voice is heard, and everyone belongs.

Warmth for Our Fishers

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, jackets were distributed to our fishers as a sign of gratitude for their hard work and resilience at sea. These jackets are more than just protection from the cold — they are a reminder that their efforts are seen, their stories matter, and they are not alone. Moments like these strengthen the bonds of care and community at Stella Maris Uruguay, where every act of kindness affirms our commitment to walk alongside those who dedicate their lives to the sea.

Your support helps us continue these acts of care and solidarity for seafarers, fishers, and migrants — every contribution makes a difference.

Hot Chocolate for Our Seafarers and Fishers

On a chilly day, we gathered to share hot chocolate and heartfelt conversations with our seafarers and fishers — a simple but meaningful way to offer warmth and connection. This small gesture became a beautiful moment of solidarity, reminding everyone that they are seen, appreciated, and cared for. With the support of the Parroquia Ntra. Sra. Asunción y Madre de los Migrantes, who generously prepared the food, the gathering was filled with kindness, laughter, and community spirit. It’s through these shared moments that we continue building a home of humanity and hope.

Welcoming the Rotary Club

We were honored to welcome the Rotary Club to Stella Maris Uruguay as they marked another year of their mission. The gathering was filled with connection as we shared refreshments, spoke about our respective missions, and exchanged stories with our seafarers and fishers about life at sea. Their generous gifts of food and winter essentials brought comfort during the colder days, making the visit a meaningful moment of solidarity and community.
