Rooted in compassion and the Scalabrinian mission of serving people on the move, our services are designed to nurture the body, mind, and spirit of seafarers and fishers. Whether it’s a moment of joy, a quiet prayer, or a simple conversation, we are here to walk with each person in their journey, offering a safe and welcoming space of humanity and care.

Our Services

Stella Maris Scalabrinian Center

Our center is a safe and joyful space where those who work at sea find a home away from home. After long days or months on board, they can rest, be themselves, and reconnect with life on land.

  • Relax with karaoke, music, and TV

  • Unwind with games like foosball, darts, or table tennis

  • Connect with family and friends through free Wi-Fi

  • Express yourself by playing instruments or dancing with others

  • Reflect or pray in our open chapel, a quiet space for anyone seeking peace

Ship Visit

Seafarers spend long months far from home, often in silence and solitude. That’s why we visit ships—to offer companionship, understanding, and a sense of connection.

Hospital Visit

Illness or injury can be especially hard when you’re far from your country and loved ones. We accompany hospitalized seafarers with compassion and solidarity.

  • Personal visits that bring a comforting presence

  • Emotional and spiritual support during recovery

  • Practical help, translation, or contact with family if needed

  • A reminder that in their most vulnerable moments, they are seen and supported

Spiritual and Mental Well- Being

Life at sea can be difficult—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We provide a caring presence for those who carry invisible burdens, offering a space for healing and inner peace.

  • Pastoral care and personal listening sessions

  • Prayer moments, blessings, or spiritual conversations

  • Open to all, no matter your faith or beliefs

  • Friendly visits that offer warmth, human contact, and compassionate listening

  • Delivery of essentials, news, and updates

  • Assistance with transportation when possible, helping seafarers reach shopping areas, or other places during their time ashore

  • Upon request, we offer spiritual support—prayers, blessings, or quiet moments of faith
