Our Story

In 1962, the first Scalabrinian missionaries arrived in Uruguay. Their ministry began at the Parish of San Adolfo in Las Piedras, where they served internal migrants.
In 1967, the Italian Catholic Mission was established in Montevideo, creating a place of faith, community, and welcome.
On December 9, 1983, Monsignor Carlos Partelli, Archbishop of Montevideo, founded the Territorial Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción y Madre de los Migrantes, marking a new chapter in the Scalabrinian presence in Uruguay.
Our Parish Community
Behind our parish is a welcoming community of volunteers and faithful who serve with generosity, compassion, and joy. Through their dedication and presence, they help create a parish family rooted in faith, solidarity, and care for others.
